Punxsutawney is 0-10 against Elk County Catholic since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Punxsutawney Chucks will be staying on the road to face off against the Elk County Catholic Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd.
Last Tuesday, Punxsutawney was beaten by Redbank Valley 65-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Punxsutawney has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Elk County Catholic entered their tilt with Brookville with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Elk County Catholic walked away with a 54-47 victory over Brookville on Friday.
Punxsutawney's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Elk County Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Punxsutawney suffered a grim 45-24 defeat to Elk County Catholic when the teams last played back in January. Can Punxsutawney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
