Baldwin is 1-8 against Wellsville since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Baldwin Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Wellsville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Baldwin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Wellsville likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Baldwin strolled past Louisburg with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.
Baldwin found their leader in underclassman Cooper Carr, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carr has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Colton Collum, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wellsville came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Iola 73-46 at home. Wellsville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Baldwin pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wellsville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Baldwin took their win against Wellsville in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 73-52. Does Baldwin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wellsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
