The Northside Eagles and the Marist War Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Northside Eagles had to settle for second. Northside took a 38-21 bruising from Marist. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Marist is ranked 22nd).
When it comes to explaining why Northside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keron Milton jr.. Despite the final result, he picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown. Milton jr.'s longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Northside and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Marist, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Northside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marist will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
