Casa Grande extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-8. They came up short against the Vista Grande Spartans, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Tuesday.

Casa Grande saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Rice, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. The Cougars are 2-1 when Rice posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise.
As for Vista Grande, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5. Considering they have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Vista Grande's side, Adrian Davis and Jayan Ybarra made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Davis pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Ybarra struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Davis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Davis went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Ybarra went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Davis has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Aiden Montiel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jasper Milovich, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Casa Grande will face off against Cienega at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.56 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vista Grande, they will take on Helix in a tournament on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scotties have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
