While Florence's victory against Globe wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Florence sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Globe on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gophers have posted since April 15, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Lorefice, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Stenson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Lorefice wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Florence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Florence's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-3. As for Globe, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Florence will welcome Coolidge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Florence's pitchers better be ready for this one: Coolidge has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Globe, they are taking a road trip to challenge Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Globe is facing Miami at the right time seeing as Miami is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
