It was a good run, but the New Prairie Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 49-40 to Mishawaka. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as New Prairie came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Mishawaka is ranked 235th).
Despite the loss, New Prairie still got an impressive performance from Jayden Flagg, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan White, who scored eight points along with four steals.
New Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Mishawaka, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
New Prairie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Jimtown is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Mishawaka, they will square off against Plymouth at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
