With a playoff win on the line, Colfax rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-45 win over the Escalon Cougars. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Colfax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diego Maldonado, who posted 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Hacker, who earned nine points.

Maldonado wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Colfax was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escalon only eight assists.

Escalon's loss came despite strong showings from Daniel Gonzalez and Logan Huebner. Gonzalez went 5-for-9 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Huebner almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Huebner has posted since back in February of 2024. Ryan Lewis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Colfax's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8. As for Escalon, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.

Colfax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-46 defeat against Ripon Christian on the 21st. Escalon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
