Charlestown entered their tilt with Corydon Central on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over the Corydon Central Panthers. The 43-point effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Anthony Fresh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 18 points along with six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Parker Odle was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points.

Charlestown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corydon Central only pulled down six offensive boards.

Corydon Central's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Fessel and T-Mac Wilkinson. Fessel went 8 of 9 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds, while Wilkinson went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Lindemann, who posted three points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Charlestown's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Corydon Central, they moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlestown will host Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Corydon Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Corydon Central has won five straight at home, while Southwestern won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
