Oxbow strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Craftsbury Academy Chargers get on the board and left with a 26-0 win. Give the Olympians' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Mackenna Houston was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Houston was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Oxbow got a massive performance out of Braylee Phelps, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Phelps has posted since back in May of 2024. Brooke Osgood was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Oxbow hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Oxbow pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Craftsbury Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxbow will square off against Vergennes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Olympians are facing the Commodores at the right time seeing as the Commodores are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Craftsbury Academy, they will face off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on the 9th.
