The Burns Broncs won against the Arvada Bulldogs on Friday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Burns claimed a resounding 50-23 victory over Arvada at home. Burns' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Burns had a senior duo take command as Brooke Hansen scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and Jordan Griess scored 7 points along with 4 steals. Hansen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Barrett, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Emma Ngewasi and Lily Heck certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ngewasi scored 11 points along with 3 steals, while Heck scored 4 points. Ngewasi scored a full 47.8% of Arvada's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Burns' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Arvada, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Burns will take on Southeast at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Southeast is ranked 15th, while Burns is ranked tenth). Arvada won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Newcastle at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Newcastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Saturday.
