The Logan Chieftains will be taking part in a tournament against the Franklin Heights Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Logan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Logan saw some tournament action on Thursday. Everything went their way against Briggs as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Logan was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-8, 25-14.
Logan relied on the efforts of Gracen Grow, who had ten digs and two assists, and Allie Horn, who had seven assists and two aces. That's the most assists Horn has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, Franklin Heights lost 3-0 to Bishop Ready last Thursday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Silver Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-8.
Logan's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Franklin Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Logan has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Franklin Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Logan took their victory against Franklin Heights when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
