The Haldane Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Peekskill Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Haldane and four for Peekskill.
On Wednesday, Haldane lost to Croton-Harmon at home by a decisive 42-26 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Haldane in their matchups with Croton-Harmon: they've now lost four in a row.
Peekskill suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 71-29 loss at the hands of Walter Panas. Peekskill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.
Despite the loss, Peekskill saw an underclassman step up: Azarriyah Ashley scored 21 points. That was a full 72.4% of Peekskill's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Haldane dropped their record down to 6-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Peekskill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Haldane came up short against Peekskill in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 47-39. Can Haldane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
