Creekview hasn't had much luck against Wakeland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will take on the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Creekview turned things around against Turner on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Lions 5-4.

Kelis Lee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season.
Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was London Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Brodie Montez was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Wakeland got the win against Highland Park on Friday by a conclusive 18-2. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Wakeland also got a great performance from Jordan Mcnees as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Mcnees has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lauren McIllwain was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Franklin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Wakeland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .455 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Creekview's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for Wakeland, their record now sits at 15-4-1.
Creekview might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Wakeland in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
