Baseball Recap: Carson Takes a Loss

Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-3 to the McQueen Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on March 7th.

Ethan Cook was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Cook wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas LaFollette, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Carson's record now sits at 3-10. As for McQueen, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8-1 record this season.

Carson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 victory against Reed on the 29th. As for McQueen, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-8 defeat against Bishop Manogue on the 29th.
