Baseball Recap: LBJ Austin Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times LBJ Austin and Manor New Tech have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The LBJ Austin Jaguars fell just short of Manor New Tech by a score of 8-7. The Jaguars have struggled against Manor New Tech recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meetings.

Jesus Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Williams, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.

LBJ Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Manor New Tech, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

While LBJ Austin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
