Basketball Game Preview: Culver City Centaurs vs. Metairie Park Country Day Cajuns

The Culver City Centaurs will take on the Metairie Park Country Day Cajuns in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Culver City's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Culver City will head into Saturday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 54) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Villa Park 72-69. Given the Centaurs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Spartans are ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Myles Singleton had an outrageously good game as he posted 26 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Singleton, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Metairie Park Country Day had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against Wright by a score of 56-49.

Culver City is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Metairie Park Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
