Two dominant forwards in Brady Koehler and Tavion Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cathedral Fighting Irish will square off against the Ben Davis Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cathedral's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.
Cathedral is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat East Chicago Central 101-58. With the Fighting Irish ahead 51-30 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Koehler was his usual excellent self, going 5-for-8 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien Smith, who went 7-for-13 en route to 20 points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Cathedral was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Ben Davis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 55-50 to Lawrence Central.
Cathedral will have to contain Jahmir Avery as he made an impact in Ben Davis' last game. He went 5-for-11 on his way to 17 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Avery a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jashawn Ladd, who posted 11 points.
Cathedral pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.8 points over those games. As for Ben Davis, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Cathedral has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ben Davis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Cathedral was able to grind out a solid victory over Ben Davis in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 73-64. Will Cathedral repeat their success, or does Ben Davis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
