For the first time this season, Shelton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After both having extra time off, they and the All Saints Episcopal Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Shelton earned a 10-7 victory over Covenant. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chargers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask All Saints Episcopal). They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Bishop Gorman last Friday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Aidan Pitts made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Pitts was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Sawyer Buske was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Wilkerson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
All Saints Episcopal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Shelton's record is now 3-7-2. As for All Saints Episcopal, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Shelton took their win against All Saints Episcopal in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Shelton have another victory up their sleeve, or will All Saints Episcopal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
