After two games on the road, Isle of Wight Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Broadwater Academy Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Isle of Wight Academy and Broadwater Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Friday, Isle of Wight Academy was the victim of a tough 61-38 defeat at the hands of Greenbrier Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, Broadwater Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Holly Grove Christian 61-43 on Friday. Broadwater Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rufus Abbott had a dynamite game for Broadwater Academy, scoring 21 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abbott has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Pruitt, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Isle of Wight Academy bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Broadwater Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Isle of Wight Academy couldn't quite finish off Broadwater Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 76-74. Thankfully for Isle of Wight Academy, Malik Battle (who scored 28 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
