The South Central Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 70-50 defeat at the hands of Edison. South Central found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, South Central still got an impressive performance from Gunner Ray, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Bryan Chaffee was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Kayden Bourget was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with two steals and two blocks for Edison. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bourget has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grayson Smith, who scored nine points along with three steals.
South Central dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.
South Central will head out on the road to take on Monroeville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. As for Edison, they will be playing at home against Willard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 727th, while Willard is ranked 93rd).
