The Palmetto Ridge Bears put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over Port Charlotte. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Palmetto Ridge has scored all year.
Calven Charles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. Those eight blocks set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Holmes, who scored eight points.
Palmetto Ridge's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Port Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Palmetto Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Gateway Charter at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. Port Charlotte will take on Sports Leadership & Management in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at. Sports Leadership & Management has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 336 points over their last five games.
