T.L. Hanna and Westside are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with T.L. Hanna sitting on seven straight wins and Westside on five.
On Friday, T.L. Hanna got the win against Greenwood by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Williams 2027 spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hanna Davis 2028 and Harmony Harvey 2028 did most of the damage at the plate: Davis 2028 went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double, while Harvey 2028 went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Harvey 2028 a new career-high. Brooke Pratt 2026 also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westside). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Southside a 29-0 shutout on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rams with their most commanding win of the season.
Jazelyn Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Robinson was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Samantha Haney was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Madison Gray was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Westside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
T.L. Hanna's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westside, their record now sits at 9-5.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. T.L. Hanna has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Westside struggles in that department as they've averaged .550. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
T.L. Hanna beat Westside 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
