The Casa Grande Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Canyon del Oro Dorados at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Casa Grande is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Casa Grande made easy work of Maricopa and carried off a 15-7 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Matt Villa was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Casa Grande is 6-2 when Villa posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cole Rice, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Casa Grande kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro entered their tilt with Catalina Foothills on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.
The result came thanks to Regen Mazura's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Canyon del Oro's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Carson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Canyon del Oro's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Casa Grande, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Casa Grande has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Canyon del Oro struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Casa Grande skirted past Canyon del Oro 3-1 when the teams last played on April 1st. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
