The Brackenridge Eagles the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Sam Houston Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Brackenridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brackenridge beat MacArthur 45-39.
It was another big night for Isaiah Cardona, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Javi Solis, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Sam Houston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Highlands. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brackenridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-16 record this season. As for Sam Houston, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
Brackenridge strolled past Sam Houston in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 69-53. Will Brackenridge repeat their success, or does Sam Houston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
