The Normandy Invaders will be playing at home against the Andrews Osborne Academy Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Normandy will be strutting in after a victory while the Phoenix will be coming in after a defeat.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 20 to 13 on the offensive boards, a fact Normandy proved on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-27 win over Buckeye. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Normandy.
Izzy Akin was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammi Perdue, who scored 13 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Andrews Osborne Academy was beaten by the Vikings 61-30 on Monday. Andrews Osborne Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.
The win got Normandy back to even at 8-8. As for Andrews Osborne Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
