The Calvary Christian Lions will be playing at home against the Dunellen Destroyers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Calvary Christian didn't have too much trouble with the Patriots on the road as they won 55-41. Given Calvary Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Patriots are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Dunellen made off with a 45-44 victory over the Zebra. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Dunellen.
Dunellen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Hutchins out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Hutchins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Cruz, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Calvary Christian's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Dunellen, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Everything went Calvary Christian's way against the Destroyers when the teams last played two weeks ago as the Lions made off with a 64-40 win. Will Calvary Christian repeat their success, or do the Destroyers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
