 On Lakeland's side,  Carson Mickem made a big impact no matter where he played. He  struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit. Mickem was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Dylan Bateman was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Drannon Miller, who  went 1-for-4 with three  RBI.
 Prairie Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lakeland, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie Heights will  face off against West Noble at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. West Noble is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8  runs per game this season. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Northridge at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
