Cincinnati Country Day has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cincinnati Country Day is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rockets in Ohio (the Nighthawks are ranked 40th, while the Rockets are ranked 228th).
Last Wednesday, Cincinnati Country Day ended up a good deal behind the Cavaliers and lost 61-45. Cincinnati Country Day has not had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite their loss, Cincinnati Country Day saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Megan Zimmerman, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Zimmerman has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Easter, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville-Perry waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Whiteoak 48-45.
Cincinnati Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Cincinnati Country Day against the Rockets when the teams last played back in February of 2021 as the squad secured a 56-17 win. With Cincinnati Country Day ahead 32-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
