The Vina Red Devils had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 80-51 win over Phillips on the road. The result was nothing new for Vina, who have now won three matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Vina's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khylee Brooks led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 19 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lana Bell, who scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds.
Vina's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Phillips, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vina will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fayette County at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Phillips, they will face off against Belgreen at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Belgreen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Phillips in Alabama (Belgreen is ranked 72nd, while Phillips is ranked 383rd).
