The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waterford in their matchups with Tabiona: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Waterford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Preston Jenkins. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hisham Ali, who scored ten points.
Tabiona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chance Lazenby out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Lazenby is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Logan Rhoades was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Waterford has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Tabiona, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Tabiona, they will head out on the road to square off against Duchesne at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Duchesne will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
