Marla Freiwald was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Freiwald has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Freiwald was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lindsay Gibson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.
Blue Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 26-1. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
Blue Mountain will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Elizabeth Forward. Elizabeth Forward will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Blue Mountain surely won't give up without a fight. Northwestern Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
