In what's become a running theme this season, the Kenwood Bluebirds gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 66-19 victory over Franklin. 66 seems to be a good number for Kenwood as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Kenwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diamond Watters, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Watters has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Green, who scored 16 points.
The victory was the third in a row for Kenwood, bringing their record for this year to 9-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenwood will square off against North Harford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to take on Overlea at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Overlea comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
