Cumberland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Hayward on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to the Hurricanes. The loss continues a trend for the Beavers in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost seven in a row.

Faith Allram made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emilee Glenna, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Catherine Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
St. Croix Falls pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything went Cumberland's way against St. Croix Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Cumberland made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
