Pine Forest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwayne Johnson, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Malachi Cooke, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Harnett Central's loss came despite strong showings from Rylan Beasley and Quan Dixon. Beasley scored ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks, while Dixon scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Beasley also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb McKinnis, who scored nine points.
Pine Forest's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Harnett Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Richmond will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Harnett Central, they will head out on the road to take on Overhills at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Overhills will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
