The Lamar Warriors were the 73-62 winner over the Dover Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lamar fell to Dover 54-50. Lamar has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Dover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Young led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Young hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Mccrotty, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Dover, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Baptist Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Baptist Prep is ranked 43rd, while Lamar is ranked 21st). As for Dover, they will head out on the road to square off against Central Arkansas Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Arkansas Christian is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
