Eagleville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Monday, Eagleville lost to Central Magnet at home by a decisive 53-37 margin. While losing is never fun, Eagleville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Central Magnet is ranked 95th).
Meanwhile, everything went Mt. Pleasant's way against Zion Christian Academy on Tuesday as Mt. Pleasant made off with a 55-33 win. The victory was just what Mt. Pleasant needed coming off of a 72-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mt. Pleasant's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Workman, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Workman has scored at least 25% of Mt. Pleasant's points. Ayanna Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
Eagleville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Eagleville against Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-26 win. Will Eagleville repeat their success, or does Mt. Pleasant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
