The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to Saratoga. Rocky Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Saratoga apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
Rocky Mountain's loss came despite strong showings from Lafe Files and Cole Minchow. Files scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while Minchow scored 21 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tucker Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Rocky Mountain were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rocky Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Saratoga, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
Rocky Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kemmerer at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Saratoga will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wind River at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
