Even though the Delano Tigers scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, the McFarland Cougars still came out on top. McFarland managed a 71-67 victory over Delano. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McFarland.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ibrahim Shuwait, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. Shuwait has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jotham Amodo, who scored 18 points.
McFarland's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Delano, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.
McFarland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delano, they will head out on the road to square off against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Delano has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 451 points over their last seven games.
