The West Milford Highlanders won the last time they faced the Passaic Valley Hornets, and things went their way on Tuesday too. West Milford put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 44-18 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.
West Milford was led to victory by Aubrey Fritz and Laurel Space. Fritz scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Space scored four points along with 11 steals and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fritz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Vacca, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
West Milford has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Passaic Valley, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
West Milford and the Lancers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lakeland Regional is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Passaic Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in New Jersey (the Patriots are ranked 118th, while the Hornets are ranked 264th).
