Forrest County Agricultural hasn't had much luck against Purvis recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Forrest County Agricultural will look to defend their home field against Purvis at 7:00 p.m. Purvis took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Forrest County Agricultural, who comes in off a win.
Forrest County Agricultural took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Perry Central 9-1. The win continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Parks Brock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sean Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Forrest County Agricultural always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Central only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, Purvis faced Sumrall in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Purvis fell just short of Sumrall by a score of 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
JoJo Parker put in work no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Jacob Parker and Cannon Turner stepped up to the plate in a big way. Parker scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Turner got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Parker is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Forrest County Agricultural's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Purvis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.
Forrest County Agricultural couldn't quite get it done against Purvis when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Forrest County Agricultural avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
