The contest was Shifflett's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Branche, who scored eight points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Fluvanna County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ikeena Spruill. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Spruill scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Wood, who scored six points.
The victory was the third in a row for Monticello, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
