The Elkin Buckin' Elks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to Starmount. Elkin has not had much luck with Starmount recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Starmount's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Molly Swaim, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Swaim hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Carley Money, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Elkin has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Starmount, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Alleghany the next time they take the court. Starmount will host Alleghany at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Elkin will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
