After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wenonah, Jackson-Olin was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Tarrant Wildcats 20-5. The Mustangs not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024.
Ricky Bell was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Seven bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Jackson-Olin got a massive performance out of Jaylen Washington, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while going 2-for-2. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. DaTrell Evans was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.
Jackson-Olin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarrant only posted an OBP of .412.
Jackson-Olin's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Tarrant, their loss was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
