The Griffith Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Rensselaer Central 42-13. Griffith was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Diego Hernandez-Reyes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rensselaer Central, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Hernandez-Reyes definitely has the trust of the coaching staff as he's now carried the ball at least 25 times in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Ogborn, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Griffith's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Rensselaer Central, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Griffith does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rensselaer Central will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lafayette is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
