Valley Forge is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Buckeye a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Valley Forge Patriots will be playing at home against the Buckeye Bucks at 6:00 p.m.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Valley Forge and Normandy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Invaders on Thursday.
The final score came out to 25-8, 25-15, 25-12.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Buckeye and Westlake, and Buckeye kept the tradition alive. The Bucks walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Demons on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bucks as it spelled an end to their six-match losing streak.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.
Valley Forge better keep an eye on Claire Miller. She was instrumental in Buckeye's win, getting ten digs and four aces. That's the most aces Miller has posted over her last eight contests. Ava Wolf also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Buckeye was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They served one more ace than Westlake's also-impressive total of ten.
Buckeye's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Valley Forge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Valley Forge might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Buckeye in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other volleyball content.
