Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilmer). They walked away with an 81-69 victory over the Cumberland Academy Knights on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Buckeyes with their most commanding win of the season.

Gilmer pushed their record up to 7-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Cumberland Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilmer will square off against Spring Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmer is facing Spring Hill at the right time seeing as Spring Hill is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cumberland Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pine Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
