Softball Recap: Lakeside Has No Trouble Against Thomson

Lakeside got themselves on the board against Thomson on Wednesday, but Thomson never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

KYLEIGH BALDWIN and LAUREN CONLEY did most of the damage at the plate: BALDWIN got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while CONLEY went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that BALDWIN has snagged this season.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomson only posted an OBP of .211.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Thomson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Lakeside and Thomson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Panthers will take on Grovetown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (179 vs. 44). Meanwhile, Thomson (ranked 215th) will meet Evans (ranked 84th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
