It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cinnaminson Pirates can now relate to. They were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of Point Pleasant Boro on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cinnaminson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Point Pleasant Boro is ranked 27th).
Matt Oliphant was a one-man wrecking crew for Point Pleasant Boro as he rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 81 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Croce, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Cinnaminson's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Point Pleasant Boro, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Cinnaminson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Point Pleasant Boro is on the road again on Friday and play against Willingboro at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Willingboro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
