The Gulf Buccaneers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Zephyrhills out 47-44. That's another feather in the cap for Gulf, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Gulf's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaedah Ford, who scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ford has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with 23 rebounds and three steals.
Gulf's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Zephyrhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Gulf won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Zephyrhills, Zephyrhills and Anclote will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
