After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Herscher, Kankakee was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Thornton Wildcats. The Kays haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Kylie Glogowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Landis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Kankakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton only posted an OBP of .250.
The victory got Kankakee back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kankakee is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
